Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.

In loving memory of Madeleine and Robert Richardson. I am grateful for the time that we had, and I miss you both. You will be with me where ever the road may lead.

Calgary for Canada day

Had a wonderful drive from Athabasca to Calgary; only one glitch...

That obviously backed traffic up for a while. About 45 miles down the road, I made my way up to the next plateau, and BANG! There's the Canadian Rockies. Beautiful! I felt instant jubilation at the fact that the plains are behind me. I'm very excited at the prospect of crossing the wilder parts of Canada.
A few pics of the Rockies and beautiful vistas from just SW of Calgary
Nice view of downtown
My home for the next day and a half
View from the back porch
and this morning with different light.
I'm off to do a quick tour of Calgary, and cooking dinner for 5 tonight. Catch up with you guys later. Happy Canada day and/or 4th of July to all my North American friends and family!
